UPDATE: Sadly, David did not win the fight with his illness and passed away earlier this morning. Though he may have had life insurance and such, those things take a great deal of time to get paid out so whatever we can raise here will help Betty with expenses in the interim. David was a good man. One of the best I’ve had the honor of knowing. He would step up and do the same for anyone. Thanks to each and every one of you who have donated thus far. It means more than you know.
Hi everyone. We are raising money for David Sage. David was diagnosed with Covid around the 11th of August and seemed to be fighting it off fairly well. Near the end of The first week he was mildly symptomatic and actually thought he was getting better by the second week. He was checking his Oxygen levels and they started dropping down into the 80s then 70s and he could not keep them above 90 so he rushed to the hospital and found out he had bilateral lower lobe pneumonia. His condition worsened to the point of being transferred to a major hospital in Roanoke, Va and being intubated and placed on a ventilator. His kidneys started to fail and he was placed on a ventilator. The outlook was very grim for a while but he is still holding his own and fighting. There has been a little improvement in his lungs but he is still on dialysis and remains sedated. The road ahead for David will be a long one and he will need any help with finances and paying bills that he can get. Any help with this is gratefully appreciated and I’m sure David’s wife Betty will feel the same. No one expects to be a providing, thriving leader of a household one day to intubated and on a ventilator over the next few days. Thanks to everyone who can give. If not monetarily, then just with prayer.
