Motor Trike for Wheelchair Biker. CLOSED
Donation protected
Hello everyone,
BACKGROUND
My name is David, and I need your help to get back on the road. In 1983, at the age of 21, I was paralysed in a motorbike crash.

For many years, I believed I would never experience the thrill of riding again.
In 2009, I discovered the Martin Conquest trike, a machine specifically designed for wheelchair users. An awesome dream machine giving me back the ability to ride again - freedom and independence! The photo below shows me back then and the trike I rode to Berlin to raise money for Capability Scotland.

THE FIRE
Unfortunately, on Sunday, 4th November 2024, a freak fire destroyed my trike.

To make matters worse, the Martin Conquest trikes went out of production in 2013, making them as rare as gold dust.
A REPLACEMENT TRIKE
I have found a Conquest trike for sale in Spain for £17,000.

In addition to this cost, I need to pay to:
£1,500 Shipping it back to the UK
£1,700 (up to 10%) import taxes to HMRC.
£200 wheelchair with clamp on the underside that fits into the electronic lock in the floor of the trike’s cock pit.
£547 Roho Air Cushion for wheelchair for comfort and damping vibrations to my spine.

After the insurance payout, I'm still going to be £2,447 short.
That's why I'm reaching out to you. With your help, I can get back to doing what I love most—riding my trike. Any contribution, no matter how small, will bring me one step closer to regaining my freedom on the road.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any support you can provide.
