I never imagined I would find myself in this position, but life has a way of throwing challenges at us when we least expect it. Recently, I was fired from the company I co-founded, and at 68 years old, finding new work has proven to be a formidable challenge. At the same time, my son Leo, who is on the autism spectrum, continues to depend on me for support. To make matters worse, my car was stolen, and without comprehensive insurance, I am left to figure out how to replace it on my own. Facing all three of these hardships at once has left me feeling overwhelmed and uncertain about the future.

I have managed to keep things afloat by drawing on my retirement savings, but those funds are nearly gone. My central objective is to pay down my Home Equity Line of Credit, which would ease my monthly expenses and help me balance my income and costs. Some of the funds raised will also go toward supporting my household and caring for Leo, who receives Social Security Disability but still needs my help. If possible, I would also use some of the funds to replace my stolen car, as I am currently paying an auto loan but have no vehicle. I am doing my best to stay positive, but I am not really prepared for three bad things to happen at once.

Almost everyone has financial pressures these days, and I understand that no one has extra money lying around. My retirement savings have been virtually wiped out, but if I raise enough, I can once again dream of retiring someday. Any amount is the right amount, and you have my gratitude. When my earnings were robust, I was generous in giving to charities, but now I am on the other side, asking for help.
