My name is David. I am a musician and I've done office work most of my professional life since graduating college. When the 2008 recession hit, I did what a lot of others did and went to grad school and got my master's degree. So, I have an MDiv...but no call to be a pastor from a denomination as yet. I recently worked for a church that I still attend but was laid off due to budgetary constraints, and churches often don't pay into the unemployment insurance system, so I can't draw on unemployment while I look for a job. Since March 10th of this year, I've been paying bills on savings and the generosity of friends. I'm casting the net further because I'm sending out applications and hearing nothing in return from anyone. I've had only 3 interviews in 5 months' time. Some experts are saying it takes 9 to 12 months right now to find a job, and I simply don't have that kind of savings.
Please be as generous as you are able. I prepared for a rainy day, but this has been a deluge with no end in sight.
