This August, I will be moving from Seattle Wa to San Diego Ca, to begin my time as a student at the University of San Diego. I will be pursuing an LL.M (Master’s of Law) in Taxation. This degree will provide me with advanced training in the area of tax law and will also prepare me for the practice of law. This will help to create opportunities for me to break into a field of law in which their is little to no Black representation.
My goal as a tax attorney will be to provide legal services in the areas of tax and estate planning to low-income clients while also educating my clients on our tax system. I want to increase the knowledge of our tax system in the Black Community while also cultivating culture of maintaining assets after they are acquired.
The funds that I receive will go towards the cost of transporting all of my personal items and luggage from Seattle to San Diego. I will be transporting my items via UHaul. I will also use the funds for my seat deposit at USD, textbooks and other supplies, first months rent and security deposit, gas, and for temporary lodging while I will be driving from Seattle to San Diego.
I appreciate all the assistance that I receive as it will be vital to my transition from Seattle to San Diego.
