David Moscoe, a dear friend, wonderful Father, husband and person, is in a battle for his life with cancer. This amazing family needs our help. No one should have to decide between paying their mortgage or getting the much needed medical care. Here is information his daughter, Bella, provided.
On December 14, 2024, my father, David Moscoe, was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. What we initially thought was a simple kidney stone turned into a month-long hospital stay, countless rounds of chemotherapy, endless platelet transfusions, and way too many of those weird hospital Jell-O cups that he wasn't a fan of.
Four months later, we received even more devastating news: the cancer has spread to his spinal cord, requiring additional, far more aggressive chemotherapy. The treatment has taken a serious toll on him as he now spends most of his days resting, trying to regain his strength. Unfortunately, this also means he hasn't been able to work. My mother, who recently lost her job, has become his full-time caretaker, and with no income coming in, things have become incredibly difficult for our family.
If you’ve ever met my dad, you know that making people laugh is pretty much his superpower. He is kind, genuine, incredibly sarcastic and witty, and has always been the first to help others. One thing he always taught me growing up was the importance of asking for help when you need it. So here I am, doing just that.
Your generosity, whether big or small, would mean the world to my family. Every donation will go directly toward essential expenses like groceries, mortgage payments, and utility bills. It will also help us secure reliable transportation to Stanford, where my father is scheduled to receive a bone marrow transplant, and cover housing costs for the three months he’ll need to stay there post-transplant.
(And no, your donation won’t fund a week-long golf retreat in Hawaii for my dad after his recovery. Though if anyone deserves it, it’s him! Haha.)
We’re doing our best to stay positive and keep pushing forward. Any support you can give helps lift some of the financial weight off our shoulders so we can focus on what truly matters: my dad’s health and recovery.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
