It's the end of an era!
With heavy hearts we must announce that this is the final lap for Greyhound Tavern.
After almost 6 years, we are being evicted May 31st.
The building we rent in has been for sale for a while and our landlord feels it will be easier to finally sell without us in it. We were worried about this happening when we were first notified that the building was for sale but kept rolling with the punches and tried to remain optimistic. Our liquor license is tied into our lease with the location, so we are unable to move locations and reopen without acquiring another- which we cannot afford at this time.
The most disappointing part is we are not in control of any of this and are not ending things on our own terms. We hate that we never got to build our kitchen and we hate that we did not get much notice about this either.
We LOVE all the wonderful people we met along the way. We will always appreciate all the friends, regulars, coworkers, neighbors, industry folk, tourists and many many more who believed in us. Sometimes more than we believed in ourselves. Thank you all.
It has truly meant a lot to be able to live out a dream and serve you all little pieces of us.
Now it is time for us to figure out our next chapters and we need your help.
We still have a hefty chunk of a small business loan to pay off (over $15k to be exact) and we both will need some time to figure out next moves. We have only been given 6 weeks notice, so we need any help we can get while we tie up loose ends, sell stuff, pay off the loan and survive until we find new jobs.
If you can, please share, donate or come visit us in the next few weeks at the bar. Any help would mean the world to us as we try to navigate these murky waters.
Thank you again for everything. We genuinely appreciate you all!
xoxo,
David & Molly
