Hi, my name is David Mays, and I'm facing a major health challenge. After more than a decade of living with diverticulitis—and enduring over fifteen painful flare-ups—I now need to have half of my colon surgically removed.

This surgery, called a hemicolectomy, is my best chance at finally finding relief and avoiding future complications. It's a serious operation that comes with an eight week recovery period. Eight weeks away from my job waiting tables. During this time I'll need to heal both physically and emotionally.

At the same time, I'm facing a growing financial strain.

I'll be out of work during recovery and am preparing for significant costs, including:

Medical bills and insurance gaps.

Rent and basic living expenses.

Transportation to and from appointments.

Post-surgery care, medications, and healing support.
