Help David continue his rehabilitation journey
Donation protected
As many of you are aware, my brother-in-law, David Thiry, was involved in a tragic accident on May 1, 2021 which resulted in a spinal cord injury that has left him paralyzed from the chest down.
David is a bright, personable, energetic and hardworking 30 year-old that enjoyed playing golf, basketball and other active sports but now finds himself learning a new way to live. From a career standpoint, David had been working as a restaurant manager with hopes of advancing to General Manager before the accident occurred and we are simply wanting to provide him with every opportunity to continue to succeed in life.
David currently finds himself in a situation where he is unable to work and relies on Social Security Disability which, as you can imagine, is less than adequate to support his day to day needs as a quadriplegic.
We wanted to reach out to let you know that we are raising funds to help support David in his recovery. Donations to this campaign will provide him with the best chances to succeed – psychologically, emotionally and physically. These funds will help to pay for fundamental needs that include but are not limited to:
- Basic hygienic needs like a roll-in shower and accessible bathroom sink
- Day to day medical and living expenses
- Travel expenses associated with medical appointments
- Customized manual wheelchair
- Standing frame that enables David to stand once an hour (to avoid muscle atrophy and promote good blood flow)
- Caregiving
We all love David so much and know he has a very long road ahead of him. So many of us have been blessed with both financial freedom as well as life’s fundamental capabilities and any financial support you are able to provide would be so greatly appreciated. Even the slightest reduction of this financial burden will help maximize his rehabilitation and upcoming needs. We also ask that you keep David and all his family and medical staff that surround him in your thoughts and prayers.
Please feel free to forward to anyone you think may be positioned to assist.
Thank you for your support and prayers.
