Support David Hoffman’s Fight Against Advanced Colorectal Cancer
“A lifetime of service. A legacy of love. A call for community.”
We invite you to stand with David Hoffman, a cherished husband, activist, community advocate, and lifelong caregiver, as he bravely battles advanced colorectal cancer.
David’s entire life has been centered around helping others—through his career, his activism, and his heart.
He spent years working in the nonprofit sector, dedicating his time to organizations like Hospice Buffalo, CMI Education, SIDS, and the March of Dimes, always offering compassion and strength to those in need.
David also dedicated over 20 years fighting for LGBTQ+ rights and visibility, not just in Buffalo, NY—but everywhere he went. He was a major sponsor and champion of the LGBTQ+ community, and one of the original owners of Q (formerly located at 44 Allen Street) and Allen Tan. He raised countless dollars for LGBTQ+ causes and used his platforms to advocate for equality, inclusion, and dignity for all. His work left a lasting impact in Buffalo, Palm Springs, Naples, and beyond.
Together with his husband Christopher, David also pursued his passion for service in the restaurant industry, operating successful restaurants in Buffalo and Palm Springs before relocating to Naples, Florida, after the COVID-19 pandemic. David most recently served as Food & Beverage Director at the Hyatt House Naples, where he led with joy and hospitality.
But now, David is facing one of his greatest challenges yet.
He was recently diagnosed with advanced colorectal cancer. During treatment at Naples Community Hospital, David required around-the-clock care. Christopher left his job to care for him full-time, also managing their household and pets—with no nearby family to offer help. The personal and financial toll has been overwhelming.
David is also no stranger to cancer. He lost his beloved mother to breast cancer, a loss that inspired him to give back even more. One of his proudest contributions is the Hoffman Family Gardens, a peaceful healing space he helped create and fund on the Cheektowaga campus of Hospice Buffalo.
Now, David is returning to Buffalo, NY to continue treatment at Roswell Park Cancer Institute—surrounded by family, friends, and the community he has served for so long.
We’re raising funds to help cover:
• Life-saving medical care and cancer treatment
• Travel and relocation to Buffalo
• Temporary housing and daily living costs
• The complete loss of income for both David and Christopher during this time
David has given so much—to the sick, the grieving, the hungry, the hopeful, and the unheard. He’s spent his life fighting for others. Now, we are asking you to fight for him.
No donation is too small. Please give what you can, share this page, and help us surround David and Christopher with the love and support they so deeply deserve.
