Help David Gallardo & Family through COVID

Please help David Gallardo and his family, if you are able.  
Hello, my name is Jacquee and my husband owns Pacifica Seafood Restaurant and La Quinta Cliffhouse.  One of our own is significantly ill and having major financial issues in paying for his health care.  

Recently, our Chef informed us that one of our team in the kitchen, David Gallardo,  became ill with COVID.  (He was not at work and none of our other Team members were affected).  David decided to go to Mexicali with his family for treatment.  He is currently in the hospital and has been intubated since October 30th.  With other health issues, it has been a very difficult path for David.  He is suffering from major lung issues and high blood pressure, among other side effects.  We are encouraged that he is now breathing about 90% on his own with the assistance of the ventilator, and Doctors are hoping to have him off of the ventilator soon.  Sadly, his family is told it will be a very long road to recovery, and his lungs may never heal enough and have the stamina to work fulltime or come back to the job he loves with us, as a cook.  

David is 58 with a loving wife, four children and five grandchildren.  He is the only provider for himself and his wife.  She has been staying at a motel in Mexicali in order to be close and available to him.  They are  required to pay the hospital on a daily basis for his care (this is common in Mexico), in addition to her lodging.  They're at a point where she has to choose between paying their rent or not. 

If you know David, you know that he would give you the shirt off his back to help anyone.  If you don't know David, he always has a kind word and smile for everyone.  Chef Luis describes him as "a man he has known for the past 20 years and is by far the hardest working, most reliable and loyal person he has ever known.  Not only is he a great employee, but also a great friend." 

Chef is keeping in touch on a daily basis with David's family and will keep me updated so I can share the news of his progress.  We are praying that progress is more swift than expexted.  If your heart is open to help someone in need, please consider a donation here in GoFundMe.  Every single penny will go to David's care and healing, and his recovery efforts when he is able to go home.  He has a very long road ahead.
