Full Story
This is one of the hardest updates I’ve ever had to share. My brother, David, was recently diagnosed with an aggressive form of basal cell carcinoma, a type of skin cancer that has spread beyond the surface and can no longer be treated surgically. The affected area on his shoulder is too large for removal, and recent scans have shown a small spot on his lungs as well as an enlarged lymph node that will soon be biopsied.
David will begin oral chemotherapy and radiation treatments soon. While we are thankful that there are treatment options, this next season will bring physical, emotional, and financial challenges. There’s a strong possibility he will miss work while undergoing treatment, and the costs of care and daily living will continue to add up.
For those who know David, you know his gentle strength, humility, and steadfast faith. It truly humbles him to have to ask for help, but as his sister, I know that many who love him will want to come alongside him during this time. This GoFundMe was created to help ease the financial strain so he can focus on healing and resting without added worry.
Our family is trusting fully in God’s sovereignty through every part of this journey. We believe in His healing power and know that even in this difficult time, He is near and working all things for good. We have already felt His presence and peace through the love and prayers of so many who care for David.
If you feel led, please consider donating or sharing this page. More than anything, we ask for your continued prayers — for healing, peace, and strength for David and our family as we walk through this together.
Thank you for standing with us and believing that God’s hand is at work in David’s story.
“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” — Exodus 14:14
