Help David, Eddie & Emma Build Life After Loss

Donation protected
This week, my brother David Ball lost his wife of 46 years. Cynthia, a fifth-grade teacher, died after a long and brutal illness. Two weeks before she died, she was in her classroom getting it ready for students.

Cynthia had no business being there in her condition. Committed to her students, and worried about how David and their kids, Eddie and Emma, would make it without her salary, my generous and compassionate sister-in-law pushed herself to give to the very end.

Cynthia worried about her family because a few years ago, the job David held at the company where he’d worked since his early 20s was eliminated. With Cynthia’s declining health and trip after trip to doctors and hospitals, he was unable to work a conventional job. For flexibility, he drove Uber when he could around Cynthia’s appointments. As she got sicker, time he could devote to driving, and earning money, decreased.

In the meanwhile, housing costs in the San Francisco Bay area skyrocketed, and rent for their house – the most reasonable they could find within driving distance to Cynthia’s school – was way beyond what they could afford, even with Cynthia’s salary.

The costs associated with Cynthia’s care, the costs associated with her dying, and the basic costs of food and housing have left the family totally broke. Now, David and the kids must move as soon as possible into more affordable housing.

David, Eddie and Emma need urgent financial help to sustain them while they grieve, and at the same time, make big changes to get their feet on the ground over the next few months. Anyone who knows David and knew Cynthia knows they are the most generous people in the world.

Now, it’s their turn to receive. Can you help this precious family? We are so grateful for anything you can give, and for your ongoing love.
