My dear friend, David Dominick, just lost his beloved partner of more than 20 years, Joe Keenan, suddenly and unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.
Joe suffered sudden cardiac arrest after falling in his kitchen on Halloween. He was rushed to the University of Minnesota, where they performed stent placement via angioplasty. Joe was then admitted to the ICU and placed on life support. Joe never woke up. On Monday, November 3, doctors diagnosed brain death, and Joe was removed from life support on Tuesday, November 4.
There are no words big enough for this kind of heartbreak.
David has lost the love of his life — his partner of more than 20 years. One moment, they were sharing their beautiful, ordinary life together… and in the next, everything changed. The world feels quieter now, emptier, missing a light that can never be replaced.
Joe wasn’t just David’s partner — they were their home. For over two decades, they built a life filled with love, laughter, inside jokes, and shared dreams. The kind of love they had doesn’t come around often. It was gentle and strong, deep and steady — the kind of love that everyone hopes to find in their lifetime.
Now, David is facing the unimaginable: waking up each day to a world without Joe. The grief is heavy, and on top of that, all the unexpected expenses come when someone passes — funeral costs, memorial arrangements, and the day-to-day bills that don’t stop even when your world does.
I’m creating this GoFundMe to help ease even a small piece of that burden. I want to give David the space to breathe, to grieve, to sit with the memories of a love that meant everything — without the added worry of financial strain.
Every dollar donated will go directly to helping David cover funeral and living expenses, so he can focus on healing instead of surviving.
If you knew Joe, you know how big his heart was. He was my friend for more than 35 years. The best way I can honor his memory now is by showing that same love and care to David as he faces this heartbreaking loss.
Please, if you can, donate or share this page to help me surround David with the support he so deeply needs and deserves. Even the smallest gesture makes a difference.
Thank you for holding David in your hearts, and for helping keep Joe’s memory alive through your love and kindness.
❤️ With love and heartbreak,
Andrea Kuhl
