I’m organizing this fundraiser to support my dear friend David Button and his partner, Christopher Decker.

In September, David made the difficult decision to leave his workplace of 20 years. After months of job searching, he has recently accepted a new position in another state, and he and Chris are now in the process of selling their home and relocating.

Unfortunately, at a critical moment in that transition, David’s four-year-old car suffered a major transmission failure, with an estimated repair cost of $10,000. The vehicle is just beyond the mileage limit for warranty coverage, leaving them fully responsible for the repair. At the same time, Chris has had to undergo unexpected minor medical procedures and has additional care ahead.

These challenges have come during a period of financial strain and have made an already stressful move significantly more difficult.

My goal is to raise $13,000 to help cover urgent vehicle repairs and medical-related expenses.

Many of you know David and Chris through teaching, directing, performing, mentoring, or simply as people who consistently show up for others. If they have ever had a positive impact on your life, this is a tangible way to support them during a moment when they truly need it.
