Help David Build A School In Cambodia

Hi friends and family!
I'm in Cambodia working with HDLF - a grassroots education non-profit led by a good friend of mine whose mission is to provide underprivileged youth with English, IT and social skills along with career development opportunities so they can have a future.
I need your help in supporting this organization so that we can have a positive impact on people's lives!
The reason I chose to support HDLF is because of how they're executing their mission. Unlike many other non-profits, HDLF stands out as a well thought out self-sustaining organization that does not rely on external workers or funding to carry out its mission.
- Leadership and faculty positions are staffed by locals. Local humanitarians are mentored to lead, and student graduates are trained and employed as teachers.
- Social enterprises, ran by program graduates, generate income to pay for operating expenses and to fund programs.
- External funding is not used to pay for salaries or other operating expenses. It is instead spent on capital expenditures such as assets and building materials that increase the reach and impact of the organization.
All this is critical because it guarantees that your contribution will have a long lasting impact.
I'm asking for your help to finish building a new school that will take in over 200 students. We need $4000 to purchase construction materials and other assets in order to open the school.
Know that your contribution is going to have an immediate positive impact and lasting effect! I will provide updates showing the progress made.
Thank you!
David.

Why Cambodia?
There is a massive knowledge gap in Cambodia due to the 1970's genocide that wiped out nearly one third of the population. The Khmer Rouge was a brutal regime that ruled Cambodia, under the leadership of dictator Pol Pot, from 1975 to 1979 and wanted to turn the country into a socialist agrarian republic. Pol Pot's regime executed thousands of people it had deemed as enemies of the state. Those seen as intellectuals (doctors, lawyers, accountants, engineers, etc) or potential leaders of a revolutionary movement, were also executed. In order to fulfill their goals, the Khmer Rouge emptied the cities and forced Cambodians to relocate to labor camps in the countryside, where mass executions, forced labor, physical abuse, malnutrition, and disease were prevalent. As part of this effort, hundreds of thousands of the educated, middle-class Cambodians were tortured and executed in special centers established in the cities.
As a result, current generations suffer from a severe knowledge gap. In order to rebuild the country, there has to be an emphasis on education.
