My name is David Billings, and I’m currently facing a civil lawsuit filed in the Superior Court of Arizona (Case No. CV2025-026022) by Lorin Ashton (known publicly as Bassnectar) and his associated companies.

This case stems from my online statements and advocacy work that were intended to raise awareness and encourage open discussion around issues of public concern. I’ve always believed in the importance of speaking truthfully and respectfully — never with malice or intent to harm — and I stand by my right, and the public’s right, to engage in free expression.
