Help David Acquire PTSD and Seizure Service Dog

Donation protected

David has served almost 15 years in the Army and S.C. ARNG. Since his combat deployment doing route clearance clearing IED's off the sides of the road in Kandahar and Helmand Province, Afghanistan, David has suffered from severe Post Traumatic Stress Disorder that has completely ruined his ability to have a good quality of life. From nightmares, flashbacks, substance abuse disorders, suicidal ideation, to even seizures caused by his panic attacks, David has been confined to his home unable to live life out in his local community. David is undergoing constant care with the VA and is rated at 100% disabled for PTSD, Traumatic Brain Injury, and Post Concussive Syndrome.

In an attempt to take back control of his life, David has gone to an organization co-founded by former green beret Tom Spooner called Warriors Heart in Bandera, Texas. Warriors Heart specializes in substance abuse disorders in conjunction with combat and first responder related trauma. There in Texas, David was partnered with Frannie and the two "hit it off" instantly. Frannie and David are doing so well together in their training and the love that they both share for each other is inspiring and unmatched.

Once the program is completed, Frannie will be a fully trained service dog who will lovingly and loyally serve her partner while protecting him from his past. Frannie is trained in panic attack intervention, trained to love on David and stay right by his side if EMS responders are called out due to a seizure, and trained to wake David up during a nightmare and love on him for comfort. Frannie will not just be a blessing to David, but to his wife Kourtney, his son Asher, the rest of his family, and everyone who knows him because his quality of life will be increased by a percentage so great most people can't imagine. David plans to go back to work and is extremely excited to have the opportunity to be able to stop these uncontrollable panic attacks and circumvent having seizures so that he can drive again whether it be to go to work, take his family to dinner, or his son Asher fishing. David also plans to go back to school in the spring of 2022 to achieve a degree in psychology and become a licensed chemical dependency clinician who specializes in working with combat veterans and first responders so he can help people just like him.

Please help this warrior come home not just in body, but in mind and spirit.
