Update!
Mitchel has now mostly recovered from the events that occurred. While he has returned to his normal everyday routine, there is still a lot of healing that needs to happen. We want to take this time to thank each and every one of you who have contributed to this fund to help ease the burden as we continue to seek peace.
There are not enough words to express how truly grateful we are for the outpouring of love and support that we have recieved during this difficult time, and we love you all. -Mitchel and Dave"
I'm Lien, and I'm hoping for a little bit of help for my brother and his husband while they're going through a tough time.
On Saturday, May 24, 2025, my brother, David, performed with his band, and after the show, he and his husband, Mitchel, returned home to rest. Tragically, that night, Mitchel, who had enjoyed a few drinks, took a dangerous amount of prescription medication, leading to a severe overdose. When David woke up the next morning, he found Mitchel unresponsive on the floor in their guest bedroom.
After several attempts to revive him, David called for an ambulance. Mitchel was rushed to the ER, where the medical team worked quickly to treat him for Toxic Encephalopathy. Thanks to their swift actions, he stabilized and has been recovering, but he will require ongoing mental health treatment.
This experience has forced David to spend most of his time at the hospital, taking significant time away from work. As a result, both of them are facing substantial financial burdens due to medical costs and lost income. They are reaching out for help to cover their basic bills during this challenging time.
David and Mitchel have always been independent and self-sufficient, so asking for assistance is not easy for them. However, they find themselves in a situation where any support would be incredibly helpful.
If you can contribute, they would be deeply grateful. And if you or someone you know is struggling with mental health, please prioritize reaching out for help.
Thank you for your kindness and support.
