Help David and Melissa through his recovery

Hello, my name is Melissa Brown and my partner David Koppes and I need your assistance.

David suffered a pretty serious head trauma when hit by a drunk driver back in July. He is still being treated by the neurologist and has physical and cognitive therapy weekly. The doctors have not yet cleared him for work and it looks like it will be at least 4 or 5 more months of therapy before that happens.

The guy who hit David went to jail and has very few assets. His insurance agreed to a payout, but so far that money had to go to the mountains of medical bills. There may be a small amount left after all medical bills have been paid, but that could easily be another six months away.

David filed for unemployment but it has yet to be approved. If and when it is approved it will be for the minimum amount allowed and only for 6 weeks. It has been over 7 months since David was able to bring in a paycheck and contribute financially to the household. David and I are in a dire financial situation. Currently, we are 3 months behind on rent, our electricity and water are 2 months past due and my car (our only transportation) needs a new clutch installed which was estimated to cost $2800.

We don't know what else to do at this point but rely on our friends and family for whatever assistance they can provide. If you are in a position to help us in any way it is appreciated.
