Help Davey & Izzy Get Back on Their Feet

Donation protected
On Saturday March 4 approximately 6/7am Davey and Izzy were in a rollover accident, Izzy was pinned between the door and the seat & the jaws had to be used to get her out she currently has a grade 2 liver lac & a blood clot that they are tracking & monitoring but her levels are trending up and they think she may be released in a few days. Davey was ejected from the vehicle which then proceeded to flip over him and roll 3 more times, he was unresponsive at the scene. They were rushed to BAMC in San Antonio, he came in with a brain bleed, fractured pelvis, cracked ribs and disc in his spine, a broken nose and grade 2 lacerations on his spleen and liver and a fractured hand he has since been taken off sedation and vents, he has opened his eyes a few times and been able to tell us he is in pain but otherwise he still not responsive. He underwent surgery for his pelvic fracture this morning and is recovering but will need be in the hospital atleast 6 weeks followed with 6 weeks of PT to get him walking again. While they are hopefully for a full recovery they are not out of the woods yet, our greatest fortune is that their 2 year old son wasn’t in the car. There is a long road ahead and any help would be appreciated as to maintain any bills & pay any medical expenses until he is able to return to work again and so Izzy and William can stay close to the hospital to be there for his recovery. We appreciate your continued prayers and support, Davey and Izzy are truly blessed to have such a wonderful army behind them❤️

Update 3/8- Davey had surgery to repair the open fracture in his hand and is he becoming more conscious and awake! Once he is breathing at a PSI of 2500 they will transfer him to the step down unit to recover the next 6 weeks and from there he will stay at the Army Fisher House to complete his 6 weeks of PT.

3/12 Update: Davey is doing so much better he was moved to the west wing & once the VA has an open bed he will be transferred to complete his recovery & PT there but doctors say he is recovering faster than expected! He is sitting up, eating and slowly walking again, he is starting to wake up more during the days and able to have prolonged conversations, there are still moments when he is agitated, confused or tired but this is the best outcome we could’ve asked for in just a short week God is Good and so is everyone for all the prayers, advice and words of wisdom to get us through this, I especially can’t thank everyone who donated enough y’all are a blessing to our family and Davey and Izzy❤️
