Hi! My name is Dave Albury, and I want to share a story about how my family is hoping to help my mom with some fairly critical medical needs. My dad passed away a few months ago, and after financially supporting them as a couple for the last decade, we have now uncovered that my mom's vision is severely compromised. We did not realize that the glaucoma and cataracts had advanced so much, and a recent ophthalmologist consultation while visiting with me also revealed macular degeneration. The bottom line is, she will lose her sight without surgical intervention. Mom is not a citizen of the U.S., which means we are navigating visa requirements with her visits here and she does not have insurance, so 100% of the expense is out of pocket.

We are all committed to my mom's care and helping her through this additional setback, but with a potential cost that could exceed $40,000, we are prayerfully considering all options. 100% of any funds received will be directed to an account that has been established specifically for mom's surgery and aftercare. After my dad's passing, we chose to have a family memorial here in the U.S., and that meant that many of their lifelong friends where they lived did not get to participate in honoring my father or expressing their condolences to mom. Knowing what their financial situation had been for the last decade, some have asked if they could help, and we are so grateful to those who care enough to be a part of this chapter. Mom and dad served others for so many years and were the hands and feet of Jesus to so many, and it's a blessing to now see people desiring to bless her.
