Hello, my name is Sharon Bessert. I am making this GoFundMe to help my sister and brother-in-law in an unexpected but very real time of need.

My brother-in-law, Dave, is in the hospital right now and needs major open-heart surgery with multiple bypasses. We do not know when that will happen at the moment because his heart is very weak, only functioning at less than 30%. Kidney function and uncontrolled high blood pressure are also an issue. Doctors need Dave's organs in optimal health before it is safe to do the surgery. They need to remove fluid buildup and get his blood pressure under control, strengthen his heart muscle, as well as heal his kidneys before they can set up the surgery, which needs to be done ASAP. In the meantime, Dave will be wearing a "LifeVest" to shock his heart in the event it stops while waiting for surgery. He will also be on bed rest so his heart doesn't have to work any harder than it already is.

As of now, we know that Dave will be out of work for AT LEAST 3 months, no health insurance, and household bills need to be paid and they are now down substantial income. My sisters income isn’t enough to maintain their household. On top of that, they are Dave's mom's full time caregiver as she goes through chemotherapy and fights Pancreatic cancer, Lung cancer, Brain cancer, multiple other small cancers and Dementia. They will be staying at her house so Amanda can care for them both while she and her daughter who lives with them can try to maintain her and Dave's home. She is and will be missing a lot of work to be there for her husband, as well as being a full time caregiver to his mom.

My family has had a couple of hard times to hit us that we didn’t know how we would get through. But Amanda ALWAYS stepped up, without being asked, to help raise funds for my family so that we didn’t lose everything. I KNOW she has helped MANY people in times of need. That is her. She has an extraordinary giving spirit. Now, her and her family are in need and I hope and pray that we can all step up for them the way that they have stepped up for MANY.
