If you know Dave you know the level of generosity and kindness he embodies. Between caring for his loved ones, strangers and those around him, he has always been selfless in his actions. He also dedicated many years to serving our country. He was a combat vet in Desert Storm, and became a State Trooper thereafter where he was a first responder on 9/11. Approximately two years ago Dave was testing to donate his liver to his friend in need, when it was discovered he was diagnosed with CLL Leukemia Lymphoma stemming from his Desert Storm and 9/11 exposure. Dave underwent chemo and treatment, however, of recent months, he has been struggling breathing and has had to wear oxygen tanks at only 49 years old. He had also been hospitalized four separate occasions as well. On Monday June 19th, Dave was immobile and taken to hospital via ambulance and he was soon after intubated and put into a medical coma where he has been ever since. During this time his kidneys have also started failing and he has been receiving dialysis and was also transferred to another hospital almost 2 hours away from his wife and children. Many tears have been shed for a man who not only is a superhero to his family, but also to his selfless serving of this country. He lived to make others happy and would ACTUALLY give the shirt off his back and not just say he would. He is a wonderful family man to his wife Laura, his sons David John Jr and Jackson, his daughter Carollynn, and his loving parents Dee and Bill who have been struggling as well during this time. At this time his family sits by his bedside awaiting some kind of definitive answers and solutions. His family has been living in a hotel room close by the hospital so they can be close by and visit with him as much as possible. The drs feel he is able to hear them talking to him. Any contribution would help relieve the financial burden of the hotels as well as food, laundry services, and any potential medical bills that may come in the future.
