Dave’s journey is nothing short of inspiring. Fifteen years ago, he suffered a severe brain injury in an industrial accident, and doctors told his caregivers he would never walk again. When I met Dave two years ago, he relied on a wheelchair and an assistant just to get from the parking lot to the gym where I work. His mobility and communication were extremely limited, but I quickly realized that with encouragement and support, he could achieve so much more.
Over the past two years, Dave has worked incredibly hard on his hand-eye-foot coordination, and the progress he’s made is remarkable. He has gone from using a wheelchair to entering the gym with a standard walker, and now he’s able to have five-word conversations with the people who cheer him on every day. Dave practices dribbling a basketball and walking with me, inspiring countless gym members with his determination and spirit. Despite ongoing balance issues, he continues to push forward, always striving for greater independence.
At home, however, Dave is still mostly confined to a recliner because of his balance challenges. The Zeen walker would be life-changing for him, giving him the freedom to move around his home, go outside, and even grab a snack from the fridge—simple things that would mean the world to him. Please donate to support Dave. He is the very definition of hard work, coming to the gym four times a week for weight lifting and walking exercises. Your support will keep his hopes alive and help him continue his journey toward walking on his own and feeling whole again.
