Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out because I’m facing an unexpected medical situation and a temporary loss of income while I recover.
A few days ago I was hospitalized after experiencing chest pressure, shortness of breath, and fatigue. Doctors discovered that I have severe mitral valve regurgitation caused by mitral valve prolapse, and I will be undergoing heart surgery (surgery may have been completedf by now) to repair the valve.
The good news is that this procedure has an excellent success rate and should restore my heart function. The challenge is that recovery will require several weeks away from work.
As many of you know, I’m self-employed as a freelance news videographer. Because my work involves carrying camera equipment and being on my feet for extended periods,
I won’t be able to return immediately while my chest and heart heal.
During that time I’ll have little or no income.
If you’re able to help, any contribution—no matter the size—will go toward covering basic living expenses while I recover and work my way back to full strength.
If donating isn’t possible, sharing this page with others would mean just as much.
I’m grateful for the support of friends, colleagues, and the journalism community, and I look forward to getting back behind the camera as soon as I’m able. And i will get there
Thank you for your kindness and support.
