Robyn is creating this fundraiser for a friend, Dave Daniel, who is facing a long and painful recovery after a terrifying shark attack in Key West. Over the weekend, Dave was fishing with friends while standing in shallow water at a sandbar when a nurse shark attacked him. He suffered a very serious injury with an arterial bleed and had to be medevaced to Jackson South Medical Center for emergency treatment. Dave underwent surgery on Sunday night, August 23, and then needed another surgery on Tuesday night, August 25. Thankfully, he is receiving the care he needs, but the road ahead will be difficult. Dave, originally from Glenside, PA, has called Silver Springs, FL home for the past 10 years. He works hard as an exterminator and is the kind of person who supports himself and those around him.

Right now, Dave is expected to be unable to walk for 6 to 8 weeks and will need extensive physical therapy, with months away from work while he heals. Because he does not have health insurance, this sudden emergency has created an overwhelming financial burden on top of the physical and emotional toll of recovery. Donations will help cover medical expenses, physical therapy, living expenses, and other costs while Dave is unable to work.
