This summer, my ex-husband and father of my children, Dave, who is now 65yrs old, was in a terrible car accident that changed everything. He suffered severe brain trauma which affected his cognitive and physical capabilities. After spending 3 long months in the hospital, he’s finally ready to go home — but he’s returning to a life that’s been completely upended.

During his recovery, Dave lost his apartment, his vehicle, and more than likely, his job. He’s starting over from scratch, with nothing but determination, faith, and the support of those who care about him.

Dave has always been a quirky man — the one who will happily provide you a meal when you are hungry and he can always be counted on to make you laugh and have a good time. Seeing him have to rebuild his own life from the ground up has been heartbreaking but also inspiring. His spirit is strong, and he’s ready to take the next step — he just needs a little help getting there.
