Hello All.

On May 13, Dave had a massive heart attack. He was in VFib for about two hours which caused a traumatic brain injury due to lack of oxygen to his brain. Because of the brain injury (anoxic bilateral hippocampi) his memory and mobility isn’t so great. We have finally been able to move him to the rehab center that is known for their work in traumatic brain injuries. He will be receiving Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Speech Therapy to begin. He also has a Nutritionist, Neurologist and Cardiologist on his team. This is going to be a VERY long process, and we do not know how it will turn out so please be patient.

What to say about David Miner. He started his professional career in Special Effects for movies (Bride of Chucky, Starship Troopers, FaceOff, Astronaut's Wife and more). He then made the move to the LAPD (20+ years) where he spent the majority of his career in Gangs and Narcotics and finally his current career as instructor for a company that provides local, government and school officials how to respond appropriately to "situations." He is a very loving and involved father to 3 kids and a great husband

As you know, we have three kids that we need specific people to care for them and that isn’t cheap. Also, as the rehab is almost 2 hours away and with gas prices as they are, that would be helpful for myself and for Sr. This money (or hotel points) will go specifically towards child care, gas and hotel stays so Sr and I can be there to participate in his therapies as recommended.

As most of you know, we are not ones to really ask for help so I really appreciate you taking the time to reading this.
