My name is Heather and currently I'm a live-in caregiver to my friend Dave.

I'm trying to help him raise funds to cover basic bills and essentials.

Recently, Dave had 2 mini heart attacks, and after some tests, doctors determined that he needed open-heart surgery after spending just over a week in the hospital waiting on answers.

On March 27, 2026, Dave had quadruple bypass surgery at McLaren Port Huron. After a small stint in ICU and another week of hospital care, he was finally discharged.

With being discharged comes lots of instructions. For a month or more, he cannot drive or lift anything heavy. He has a heart hugger on 24/7 to support his chest after bypass surgery. He needs around-the-clock help to stand, walk, run errands, etc. He cannot work for a month or longer. Recovery can take up to 12 weeks or possibly longer, depending on how well and quickly he is able to heal.
