My best friend Dave is in the fight of his life and he needs your help.
Please go to https://davefightsals.com for more info. This site has testimonials about who Dave is and why you should donate, videos he made after his ALS diagnosis (and one funny one from before), a detailed story he wrote about ALS, and he will continue adding content. If you can share his story with at least 20 friends, ideally through text or email, in addition to sharing on social media, he would greatly appreciate it!
He has ALS, Lou Gehrig's Disease, and has lost his ability to move and speak in the past year. More recently he found out his company will only give him $300 a month for long-term disability so he is trying to survive on social security disability and that isn't much. Medical bills are piling up and we are needing more help to care for him and it all costs so much money. At the ALS clinic they told us that it costs most people with this disease over $100,000 every year just to survive. I would LOVE if you could help donate so he could get a few more years added to his life! That would mean so much to not only me but him as well!
Thank you so much for your support and donation, please spread the word and tell your family and friends. The most important part is telling your friends about Dave and his story.
We appreciate each and every one of you!
Some of the uses for the funds in this GoFundMe:
- Cover an outstanding $14,000 medical bill from Henry Ford for his colostomy surgery in October, feeding tube surgery, and other minor procedures in the past year.
- The addition of part time caregivers to help me as he requires 24 hour care now; approximately $50,000.
- Any additional funds will go to hire a tracheostomy qualified caregiver when Dave has his tracheostomy later this year. At that point costs will increase significantly. We will need all the help we can get at that point.
