Help Dave Keaton with Medical & Legal Expenses

On January 31st, my father, Dave Keaton, sustained a massive stroke (large right MCA infarction) severely affecting all use on his left-side. He lost about 90% of his right brain function. He was transported to ORMC and was in a coma for 6 days. On 2/29 he was transported to Select Specialty Hospital then on 3/9 from Select he was transported to Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital. Brooks is considered one of the BEST rehab facilities in the Southeast. However, insurance would only cover a limited time there. On 4/15 he was transported to Delaney Park which is wonderful because he is closer to family.
My family would love for him to be able to come home. But due to the severity of the stroke and its affects, many more months of rehabilitation are needed. And while my stepmom, Christine (who has been absolutely AMAZING through all of this), is very knowledgeable on this kind of care, she just simply can't give my father the kind of daily care he needs. At 6'4" and well over 200 pounds, Christine simply cannot assist him in many of his very basic, daily needs.
Over the weekend, Christine was informed that because of their "assets", they do not qualify for Medicare coverage. And while my father has a disability rating of 60% from the VA (retired Air Force in the Vietnam War), they opted for a facility outside of the VA based on the quality of care that Christine was looking for.
The two main "assets" that are affecting the coverage are their primary home and a rental home. What Medicare has failed to take into consideration is that the rental home has caused them to accumulate over $5,000 in legal and repair fees from the most recent tenants that Christine had to evict while my father has been going through all of this. They had fallen way behind in their rent and left the home in complete disrepair, including blatant vandalism. (Will attach photos.) And they had to recently refinance their primary house to be able to begin to afford the legal process for the eviction.
We're hoping to raise money so that Christine can be able to afford the ongoing therapy not covered by Medicare as well as the ever-growing legal and repair fees on the home. And, perhaps most important, to be able to give her some peace of mind so that she can focus on helping my dad and his recovery.
Thank you so much...ANY help is greatly appreciated.
