Hello! We are the Jones family, and we thank you for taking a moment to read about our Dave.
On October 17, 2025, Dave suddenly lost control of his muscles at home. Within minutes, we went from an ordinary day to watching him be life-flighted from our local ER to a bigger hospital. After six long days of testing and a brain biopsy, we were told he has aggressive grade 4 brain cancer. Further testing at the Mayo Clinic revealed the cancer to be glioblastoma. Hearing those words felt unreal, and we are still grasping what this diagnosis means for his future and for ours.
We live in Chadron, Nebraska, but the care Dave needs is ten hours away at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He is scheduled for his second brain surgery on December 1st. After that, he will begin several weeks of daily radiation and then start chemotherapy. The travel, hotels, ubers, caregivers’ expenses, medical equipment he will need, and the growing hospital bills have already become overwhelming, and we know there is much more ahead.
If you know Dave, you know he is the kind of person who holds everything together without ever calling attention to himself. He shows up for people quietly and consistently. As a husband of 32 years and a dad who has always put his family first, he continuously shapes our lives for the better. Watching him face something this heavy has been heartbreaking, but he continues to meet it with the same steadiness and humor he brings to everything.
We are asking for help so Dave can focus entirely on getting the care he needs. Every donation lifts a little weight off our shoulders and gives us more space to support him through the months ahead.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for standing with our family and our Dave. ❤️
