If you’ve ever been part of our local hockey community, chances are you’ve crossed paths with a man who truly defines dedication, heart, and leadership. Our beloved Youth Hockey Director, Dave Grigsby, has always been the first to show up, the last to leave, and the one cheering loudest for every kid who laced up a pair of skates.
Now, he needs us in his corner.
Recently, he’s been facing a tough personal battle—one that doesn’t involve pucks or players, but rather serious health issues that required surgery and will likely require more in the near future. As a self-employed individual, he doesn’t have the luxury of paid time off or company-paid health care. And yet, through it all, he continues to show up for others.
Dave has poured countless hours into developing youth athletes, mentoring kids on and off the ice, and lifting up families in our community—often putting others’ needs ahead of his own. He’s also a dedicated member of the referee association, helping to support and grow the officiating community that keeps our games fair and safe. Whether he’s behind the bench, behind the whistle, or behind the scenes, Dave is always making sure hockey happens for everyone.
He’s always taken care of everyone else, without asking for anything in return—now it’s time we take care of him.
We’ve started this GoFundMe to help ease the financial burden while he focuses on healing. Funds raised will go toward medical expenses, recovery costs, and lost income during his time away from work. Let’s rally together and remind him he’s not alone—and that the community he’s given so much to is ready to give right back.
No amount is too small, and every dollar helps. If you’re unable to give, sharing this campaign would mean the world.
Let’s lift him up the way he’s lifted so many of us.
Dave has is a good friend of mine, and will be using the funds to cover medical bills and list wages due to his hospital stay. Dave will get the funds directly.
