Help Dave Get His Wheels Back!

Hello to everyone who LOVES Detroit Dave/Comic Book Dave!! My good friend needs some help, and he's not the kind of guy to ask for it! Some of his friends know of his situation and have helped him already (you know who you are). The trouble started last August when he started having significant pain in his neck, leading to nerve damage in his right arm, making his right hand painful to use. After two MRIs, multiple visits to neurosurgeons, shots in his spine, and finally PT with a hand specialist, he is trying to get back to a normal working pace. If you don't know already, he needs both hands for his line of work! Shows have started to open up again (post-covid), and he did a specialty All Disney Collectors show in Bakersfield, CA, on January 30th. After the show, he tore down his set, packed his truck, had dinner with friends, and returned to his hotel. When he got up on the morning of the 31st to drive back to Tucson, his beloved Suburban was GONE. Stolen from the parking lot! With ALL of his best Disney stuff, showcases, supplies, GONE.

Dave had an older Suburban (that he just put a ton of money into) that had minimum insurance. Unfortunately, NO theft Insurance will cover his loss (nor will the hotel). Bakersfield law enforcement offers little hope to recover the truck or any of his stuff. So, it is A TOTAL LOSS. He rented a car to get back to Tucson and got back to work, putting together what cash he could. Once back home, Dave bought a "new" used truck, only to change the oil and have it lose oil pressure the next day. He took it to his mechanic, who sadly told him it needed extensive and expensive repairs. It was a private, as-is sale, and he has no recourse with the seller. So he eats it again.

Dave is a proud guy and would never ask you for help, but he really needs some right now. ANY little bit will help our good buddy get through this string of bad luck. I know he has helped me through hard times, so let's show him some love in return! Here's to DAVE!!
