Help Dave Fight Glioblastoma

Donation protected

Earlier this summer, only a few days after learning of his daughter’s breast cancer diagnosis, Dave was diagnosed with a High-Grade Glioma, commonly known as brain cancer. In June, he had a seizure, preceded by what we now recognize as symptoms of his disease. An MRI showed a 5.9cm mass, which was partially removed by surgery. He is now recovering while receiving proton beam radiation therapy and chemotherapy. Treatment options are limited beyond what Dave is receiving now, but there are some exciting ideas we need your help to access. If Dave's insurance does not approve our top treatment idea of ipilimumab and nivolumab (immunotherapies), which is possible, we will have to pay entirely out of pocket or send him to Brussels to join a clinical trial. On top of this major milestone we're working towards, there are several other impending medical needs: radiation, chemotherapy, appointments, tests, rehabilitation, transport, etc.

Dave has spent his life helping others.  As a successful business owner, he always made sure he paid his employees well above market salaries and always provided the best insurance at no cost.  He has also been involved with businesses that support charitable organizations.  As a cherished friend and family member, he has always been there for anyone in need, organizing and coordinating help and especially financially, contributing hundreds of thousands of dollars to help so many in their time of need.  He currently dreams of spreading universal peace by creating an organization called Universal Peace which promotes simple concepts such as  “The Golden Rule”  and “Pay It Forward” as a way to make a big difference in the world through small changes.

Of course he also spent many years taking care of his beloved wife Jean as she fought her own battle with cancer.  His support was instrumental in surviving many years past her initial prognosis which allowed her to be part of so many important moments with family and friends.  Now Dave needs your support.  Please help us and be part of his team trying to defeat this horrible disease and help him be a part of so many more of these moments.
