Hi I’m Dave Smith aka Dave Smith Acoustic Nostalgia, coming to you as a musician with an issue (and what muso doesn’t have issues hahaha). I need to downsize my busking footprint, so let me explain.
For most of my life I was a workaholic, music (guitar and vocals) being a fun thing I did on weekends, at parties, pubs, pretty much anywhere, but not usually as a supplement to my income though I’d bust out busking on the odd occasion if I were between jobs and such.
In the mid 2000s my health took a few serious hits and I eventually found myself on the disability pension. Whilst I could no longer work “normal” jobs, I could still play guitar and sing. But more recently, with further health complications, I have come to the stage where I can no longer lug around lots of heavy equipment just to go busk somewhere, and overcoming ambient noise in today’s urban environment needs at the very least, modest amplification.
Enter the Enya NEXG 2N nylon string guitar (I have always preferred nylon strings) with inbuilt bluetooth amplifier and matching headset microphone.
This, for me, would be a game-changer. I first saw a busker interstate using this set-up, and I realised that even with my health issues, I could go busking every second day with this as it’s lightweight, sturdy (carbon fibre), would have a minimal footprint and most of all for me, no lugging and setting up 50kg of equipment followed by tear-down of same. AND it’s rechargeable, a big plus for the environment.
The set-up as pictured is available in Australia for $1,135 which is about 1k more than I can spare, hence this appeal. So please if you can spare a few bucks to help an old muso improve his own lot, I would appreciate your contribution. And even if you can't spare a brass razoo, share this on your socials. Every little bit helps.
