Hi, my name is Becky Woodcock. My husband, Dave needs your help. After 31 years of dedication to his employer, Outdoor Sylvania Community Parks, Dave and I finally began to plan for his retirement. I had been retired for six years, and we were excited to spend our days together and with our family. But the summer of 2023 marked a pivotal turn in Dave's life. He experienced persistent morning coughing spells, which led him to consult his doctor. Subsequently, he was referred to a pulmonary specialist. A series of tests and a bronchoscopy confirmed he had Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF). This is a rare lung disease that causes scar tissue to grow inside your lungs. There is no cure. Dave's only option for survival is a double lung transplant.

He is currently undergoing a series of tests to be included on the transplant list at the Cleveland Clinic. This requires frequent travel to Cleveland and after he receives his new lungs, both of us will be required to relocate there for 3-4 months during his recovery while still maintaining our home. He will also have to take advantage of disability insurance but that will only provide 60% of his wages.

Funds will be used for travel, lodging, meals and medical expenses not covered by insurance. He will also need to take anti-rejection medication for the rest of his life. They are expensive and will not be totally covered by his insurance.

Dave has remained so positive; I admire his courage and will to survive! We are grateful for all donations and prayers.
