Help Dave and Sam Rebuild Their Lives

As many of you know, Dave lost his husband, Gil, to cancer not long ago. They were together for 27 years, and during that time, they adopted their son, Sam. To say Dave and Sam are devastated is an understatement, and, sadly, because of his health issues, Gil was never able to get life insurance to help ease the financial burden they now face.

Dave is a proud man, so he would never ask for help. Yet anyone who knows him knows how eagerly he steps up to help others. He's a special, caring soul, and now is our time to step up and help him however we can as he tries to put his and Sam's lives back together in this strange "new normal" they face.

Anyone grieving can tell you how much it takes out of you--it feels as if a huge hollow is cut out from your very insides--and it requires so much energy to heal. Yet because of their situation, Dave has had to go back to work too soon, not just full time, but working extra on weekends in hopes of catching up on bills. He's not sleeping well due to the stress, and during this time, he needs all the rest and respite he can get.

As Dave's friends, we have a chance to hold him up in love and assistance. He won't ask, but we can offer. Please help us give him the gift of lifting a heavy load.
