Dave was diagnosed with lymphoma in May of this year. Before he was able to start treatment, his health worsened, and he was admitted to the hospital on June 30th. After 6 weeks in the Methodist Heath System, he was transferred to Select Specialty Hospital in Omaha. He has been on a ventilator and dialysis since the beginning of July. He is now slowly recovering but will have to transfer to a longer term care facility in Illinois to continue his recovery as there are no beds available in Nebraska. Ruby has had to take time off work, and has expenses mounting up, not to mention the travel expenses she will have to get to Illinois to see him. She does have her sister and her children in Illinois that she can stay with, but will still have significant travel expenses. We are hoping Dave will be able to return to Nebraska after only a short time.
