Hi Friends,
We are so grateful for you to take a moment and read our story. Donations are greatly needed—Any amount helps.
Dave was riding his bicycle home from work when he was tragically and violently hit by a Dodge Ram 1500 truck on the left side of his body. The truck was traveling at 40MPH. He was thrown from his bicycle and landed in the middle of the road on his back. Luckily he had a helmet on which saved his life; but, sadly, the rest of his body couldn’t escape other life threatening injuries that will negatively and painfully affect him for the rest of his life.
He was rushed to VCMC hospital by ambulance and was non-responsive for over 10 minutes in the ER, they thought they had lost him—Luckily, he came back. He spent 4 days in the ICU unable to move before being sent home unprepared for the painfully difficult times ahead.
His injuries include:
Intramuscular hematoma in left iliacus muscle (fractured pelvis);
fractured hip socket;
Six broken ribs (1, 2, 3, 4 &5)
shattered (comminuted fracture) left clavicle;
punctured lung (pulmonary contusions);
traumatic pneumothorax (collapsed lung);
laceration to the face;
skin avulsion (tearing on hand);
acute embolism (blood clot)/deep vein thrombosis;
nerve damage…
Dave’s clavicle was so shattered it required surgery to repair using a large clavicle plate, 8 screws and bone grafting.
To make things even more challenging, the company Lindze was working for unexpectedly and without any warning terminated her employment shortly after the company’s HR informed her that she was eligible for California Leave to care for Dave.
A heap of bills and zero income…add it to the list
Dave is currently disabled and unable to work due to his extensive and traumatic injuries,. Lindze is actively looking for work.
This has been the most difficult and tragic experience that Dave and Lindze have ever been through and it’s not over yet. David’s body will never again be the same.
Your donation immediately supports Dave and Lindze so they can survive, pay medical expenses and bills while also helping David get access to other healing care that is crucial to assist his recovery such as massage, etc.
We appreciate the love and support from everyone during this unfortunate and challenging time. It means the world to us.
Thank you and so much love,
Lindze and Dave
