Help Dave and Kim Rebuild After Hardship

Hello, we are Dave and Kim, and this is our story. Over five years ago, Kim was in a devastating car accident that required shoulder surgery and a total knee replacement. We thought recovery was within reach, but complications led to three more knee replacement surgeries, with the most recent one just last week to correct ongoing excruciating pain. Through it all, Kim has shown incredible strength, but the medical challenges have taken a toll on us both.

To support Kim, I missed significant time at work, yet we managed to keep going. But a year ago, I suffered a workplace injury. After three months of recovery, I returned only to be let go from the company I poured my heart into, likely seen as a liability due to my age and injury. Then, as if to test us further, our home was flooded twice in a single week by Hurricanes Helene and Milton, compounding the devastation we faced from Hurricane Ian two years prior.

Despite these setbacks, I’ve fought to stay positive, but we’re stretched thin. We’re struggling to keep the electricity on, which Kim needs for her medical devices, and to maintain our phone service. We’re doing everything we can to avoid losing our home and to put food on the table.

I’ve never been one to ask for help, but I’m swallowing my pride to reach out now. Any support you can offer would mean the world to us. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for considering helping us through this difficult time.
