Hello,
My name is Dashanta Faucette (Tasha), and I'm Barbara Kukla's daughter. Last year, I suddenly stopped speaking clearly. I've been through several tests, MRIs, CT scans, and PET scans. I've seen 3 neurosurgeons, 1 vascular neurosurgeon, 5 neurologists, 3 muscular neurologists, a movement neurologist, and was admitted to 3 different hospitals. I've been to 4 sessions of speech therapy and 2 sessions of physical therapy, all within a year.
I was diagnosed with Apraxia of Speech, Aphasia, and later Ataxia, and then Cerebellar Ataxia. This ordeal began in April 2024. I had a quiet stroke in November 2024. There were no signs of stroke prior to that. I just had brain damage with no history of the origin. My speech and my gait have been affected. I use two different walkers and Augmentative Alternative Communication Devices to assist with my speech.
Unfortunately, my journey hasn't gotten any better, and neither have I. I can't seem to shake the walkers, and I'm suffering some cognitive decline. I am scheduled to go to Apex Brain Clinic at the end of next month for 2 weeks. They are going to see if they can find out what is attacking my brain and try to treat it. I've also been accepted to the National Institute of Health.
I really need help financially to assist with the Brain Clinic. That bill alone is $15,000. I have almost half of the money. If you can help me raise the rest of the money to go to that clinic, it'll be appreciated. I've been trying everything and seeing medical specialists and psychologists to keep my sanity.
I also have zelle and venmo.
