Dash is a sweet Peterbald cat who means the world to my close friend. About three years ago, Dash began having episodes of not eating, diarrhea, and nausea. At first, it was hard to pinpoint what was wrong, but recently, an ultrasound revealed changes in his intestinal walls. Right now, the diagnosis is IBS, but we’ve learned that long-term IBS can sometimes lead to more serious conditions like lymphoma.

Dash’s episodes are becoming more frequent, and the only things that have helped so far are IV fluids, Cerenia injections, and short-acting steroid injections. The next step is an endoscopy with a biopsy to get a definitive answer and make sure Dash gets the right treatment. For now, he’s starting on an oral steroid and specialty food, but if that doesn’t help, chemotherapy may be needed. The treatment for IBS and lymphoma is similar, so it’s important to get answers as soon as possible.

The funds raised will go directly toward the testing Dash needs to find out what’s happening and to give him the best chance at recovery.
