My name is Daryl, and I never thought I’d be in this position. Earlier this month, I was the victim of a major hit and run accident. The impact was so severe that doctors thought they would have to amputate my leg, but thankfully, they managed to save it. Unfortunately, my recovery has been far from easy. I’m now back in the hospital with a serious infection in the metal rod they put in my leg. I can’t move or walk, and I’ve lost both my vehicle and my motorcycle because of this accident.

Anyone who knows me knows how much I love working on things. I’ve done a lot of mechanical work for people over the years and never asked for a dollar, because helping others is what I love to do. In just one minute, my whole life was turned upside down by someone who left me and another rider on the side of the road like we didn’t matter. Now, I’ve lost not only my mobility, but also all my tools and everything in my garages. I’m left with nothing but a suitcase to my name, and the heartache and mental toll this has taken is something I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy.

This situation has turned my life upside down. I don’t have insurance, so the medical bills are piling up fast. On top of that, I’m worried about how I’ll cover my living expenses and rent once I’m finally able to leave the hospital. I’ve always been the first to help others in need, especially when it comes to caring for people in tough situations. I’ve never asked for money before, and I’ve always believed that good deeds come back around in the end. But right now, I’ve hit rock bottom because of this hit and run.
