Help Daryl Locke Return For Spring Semester

My name is Daryl Locke and I am a junior at St. John’s College class of 2023.

I do not have the funds to pay tuition for the upcoming spring semester. I do not have the support of my family members during this time. Although I am working as a Barista and sometimes I return to my hosting job in DC, paying for college has truly been stressful in my life for some time now.

I’m starting this Gofundme to make it possible for me to stay, be inspired, and learn at this college. I firmly believe that I belong here, in its community of learners, and am eager to continue questioning the world, being inspired by my school and books we read, finding answers, working on myself, and pushing myself to do and be better. I know I can be an asset to St. John’s College both now and in the future as I pursue my dreams. I have come so far and I know it is not my time to leave. It would deeply sadden me to leave so soon as the thought of it already pains me.

Each class is done in a seminar format, and my concentration at college is on the most influential books and concepts of Western civilization. My heart is drawn to the school by the discussions in class. Seminar and Preceptorial is by far the most inspiring class for me; it is where I get a lot of my ideas for my paintings, poems, and films. It includes logic, plays, literature, as well as other works. Language class is another class I am fond of because it is where I studied Ancient Greek, Modern French, and Poetry. We study astronomy, geometry, chemistry, physics, and other topics in mathematics and laboratory. These classes mean the world to me and they have all motivated me beyond my wildest thoughts and shaped me into the person I am today, and for that, I am so thankful for the school and is a reminder that my time is not up.
