In April 2026, a talented group of young footballers from Darwin, NT, will embark on a once-in-a-lifetime journey to Valencia, Spain, to compete in the prestigious International Development Academy (IDA) Easter Cup Tournament. This world-class event offers elite training, competitive matches against international teams, and invaluable cultural exchange experiences.

Casuarina Football Club’s Under-15 boys’ and girls’ teams represent a diverse mix of cultures and backgrounds, united by a shared passion for football. Founded in 1977 by Timorese refugees, Casuarina FC is now a thriving multicultural club, deeply embedded in the Darwin community. Their U15 squad is making history as the first Australian team invited to compete at the IDA Easter Cup, facing top youth teams from the UK, USA, South Africa, and Spain.

For many of these young athletes—especially those from communities where opportunities like this are rare—this trip is more than just football. It’s a chance to grow, learn, and develop resilience through high-performance coaching, international competition, and meaningful team bonding.
