Help Darwin Smith Through Health Crisis.

On January 2nd, Darwin was taken to the ER by friends after experiencing weakness to the point that he could not get out of bed. After some tests, he was sent to ICU and pretty quickly was put on a ventilator. He is currently in ICU being treated for Thyroid Storm, a life-threatening condition where too much thyroid hormone causes multi-system stresses in the body. You can read more about it here. He is getting excellent care and the hope is that he may be extubated soon and able to breathe on his own, but as of now, he is heavily sedated. He is also being treated for the flu.

Please keep Darwin in your prayers as there are many improvement markers for him to meet before leaving ICU. He is weak and very thin and will have a long recovery ahead of him once he gets through this crisis. This fundraiser is to support him due to inevitable loss of wages, medical bills, and to keep his many friends and colleagues updated on his progress.
