Chemo is hard. Sometimes really hard. My second and third day after chemotherapy are my hardest. Fatigue is brutal, I can't function as the mom I want to be. I'm thankful to have others who are willing to help, but I hate getting sidelined. Body aches, mouth sores, nausea, fever, some side effects are worse than others. They all pile on to make a rough few days every week.
I wrote the following in my journal on one of my hard days. It explains my feelings that day:
This cancer feels like an ocean and I'm drowning. Gasping for air, grasping for a lifeboat that slowly and painstakingly inches further away.

I am left teetering between hope and frustration. I need a win. I desperately need a win
Most days I look into the face of Jesus, I grab His hand and He pulls me out of the raging ocean. I walk on the water with peace and hope. Most days. But chemo is hard.
Your generous donations make it possible to get infusions that help me recuperate from chemo. Thank you so much for your generosity!
In July of 2019, at a regular check- up with her oncologist, Darsie was given the devastating news that the cancer she fought in 2014 had come back. After several tests Darsie was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer with mets in her lungs and liver. She started treatment immediately, which got rid of the cancer in her lungs. Unfortunately, the liver mets are stubborn and persistent. Darsie has been on a few different treatment plans and has started a new one recently. The treatments that she has started vary and some are not covered by insurance. She needs our help. Please consider giving to this precious lady and her family as they journey on this next phase of treatment.
