Hello. My name is Romana. I am the sister of Darryl with whom I am fundraising for. These past few months have been financially, and physically draining on my family. In November of this year my brother had a series of minor strokes and then on Monday the 13th of December, Darryl had a major stroke. Unbeknown to me, he had no health insurance, It had lapsed because he could not afford the premium since he had been living off unemployment and made just over the amount to quality for Medical. (He starts Medicare in April and I guess he was holding out for that.) His hospital bills and now rehab bill are astronomical. I have completely depleted my savings paying for the rent for the both of us, TPLO surgery for one of my dogs, along with his past hospital bills present hospital bill and am now living only off Social Security because I am unable to go back to work due to having a Lung Cancer diagnosis and surgery last year. We can no longer pay for rent, utilities, etc along with paying the hospital and rehab bill.

Asking for help for myself I could not do, but for my brother; someone that I love and the only family member I have left I would and I am. From the depths of my heart I know that I have been blessed with a wonderful life, and would only go to this length if it weren't dire.

I realize that the economy is bad right now and the Holidays are upon us. I know that times are tough for everyone, but if at all possible you could help in any way, it would be greatly appreciated. I wish not only blessings, but a completely sincere thank you.
